Xinzhou is a major city of the Great Wall in China, spanning fourteen counties and twelve dynasties. All counties (cities, districts) in the city have Great Wall relics. The construction history includes 12 dynasties: Warring States, Qin, Han, Northern Wei, Eastern Wei, Northern Qi, Northern Zhou, Sui, Song, Liao, Ming, and Qing, crisscrossing and twisting, making it a maze of the Great Wall. Xinzhou Great Wall has a lofty position in the Great Wall circle of the country. Its long history span, many dynasties, large size, frequent wars, rich shapes, diverse architectural styles, and profound cultural connotation are rare in the country. It is the essence of the Great Wall of China, a museum of the Great Wall of China, and a textbook of the Great Wall culture.
Since ancient times, praising the Great Wall has been the mission and responsibility of poets, as it embodies the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation's struggle and the patriotic sentiment of unity and perseverance. Especially in the Tang Dynasty, frontier poetry was the main subject of poetry creation, a highly intellectual, imaginative, and artistic part of Tang poetry, and a brilliant chapter in the treasure trove of Chinese national poetry. The Great Wall of Xinzhou has always been an excellent subject for creating poems about the Great Wall. From Zhang Heng's "My thoughts are in Yanmen" in the Han Dynasty to Zhou Hongzheng's "Thinking of Dongting Lake in the south and Yanmen Pass in the north" in the Southern Dynasty; From Li He's "Journey of the Yanmen Prefect" in the Tang Dynasty to Yuan Deming's "Early Hair in the Vase shaped Ridge" in the Jin Dynasty; From the famous poem "Passing Yanmen Pass" by Emperor Wen Zong of the Jin Dynasty to Marshal Chen Yi's "In the middle of the Shenchi Kailan Road", spanning two thousand years of border turmoil and thousands of poems on the Great Wall, it has become an immortal cultural symbol on the land of Xinzhou and the spiritual height of the Xinzhou Great Wall.
Today, in the context of inheriting traditional culture, promoting patriotism, and building modernization with Chinese characteristics, in 2023, the Xinzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government, together with the China Great Wall Society, jointly hosted the 5th China Great Wall Forum, elevating the protection, research, and development of the Xinzhou Great Wall to a national academic level. As the organizer of the 5th China Great Wall Forum, the Xinzhou Great Wall Society once again shoulders the historical mission of revitalizing the poetry creation of the Xinzhou Great Wall. Together with six responsible and caring enterprises on the land of Xinzhou, they have launched the "Song on the Wall, Poetry on the Three Passes" Great Wall Poetry Creation Project, encouraging Xinzhou poets to take the lead in creating Great Wall poetry and promoting Xinzhou Great Wall culture.
1、 Engineering plan:
1. Collect poems, songs, and poems from poets at home and abroad that praise the Great Wall of Xinzhou, with a focus on the Great Wall Xiongguan, the Yellow River Wall, the Great Wall Yellow River handshake point, the intersection of the inner and outer Great Wall, and important castles and sections, to reproduce history, explore culture, tell good stories, and inherit cultural heritage.
2. Select 10 outstanding Great Wall poems and 1 "Outstanding Great Wall Poet" annually. If the quality of the work is good and the quantity is large, the reward quota can be appropriately expanded at that time. In 2024, each excellent Great Wall poem will be rewarded with 1000 yuan, and the "Great Wall Poet" will be rewarded with 3000 yuan.
3. The collected Great Wall poems will be published on the poetry club's official account and the journal Great Wall Lovers sponsored by Xinzhou Great Wall Society, and recommended to other literary newspapers and online media. At that time, the quality of the works will be collected and published.
4. Encourage poets in Xinzhou to actively create and gradually form a large "Poetry Recitation Three Passes" creative formation, adding a beautiful touch to Xinzhou's Great Wall culture.
2、 Submission requirements:
The submission must conform to the theme of "Xinzhou Great Wall", and can be in old style poetry, modern poetry, or music.
Each author is only allowed to submit once, with no limit on the number of first submissions.
On the premise of creating Great Wall poems, companies can also be supported by poetry likes and submitted together with Great Wall poems.
